Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation (BCBSLAF) is a not for profit private foundation focused on improving the lives of Louisianians. Through the foundation’s philanthropic contributions, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana demonstrates its commitment to corporate social responsibility by improving the communities where we do business. The foundation seeks to achieve its mission by sponsoring health and education-related initiatives.

The signature program for the BCBSLAF is the Smart Bodies program which is a public-private partnership between the BCBSLAF and the LSU AgCenter to provide schools with grades K-5 with an interactive educational program designed to prevent childhood obesity. Through the combined efforts of both organizations, Smart Bodies is improving the health status of children in Louisiana.
